Motorola said it's considering spinning off its flailing mobile phone unit. The company said in its press release that is now looking into a “structural and strategic realignment” to help it recapture market share and enhance shareholder value.
Motorola has been in the dark for several quarters as it has lost market share to bigger rivals like Nokia and Samsung.
I think this is a smart thing for Motorola to do. After the success of Razr, the company is finding it come up with another phone that will repeat the glory that was Razr.
